NASCAR Sprint Cup Qualifying At Pocono Raceway

by

Welcome NASCAR race fans to my NASCAR blog. With heavy clouds in the area, the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series held Coors Light Pole Qualifying at Pocono Raceway for the Good Sam RV Insurance 500 race on Sunday. It looked like rain was going to wash out qualifying, but all 46 drivers were able to post times, starting with 35 Geoff Bodine and ending with fastest in practice, 39 Ryan Newman in his Tornados car.

20 Joey Logano came onto the track after twenty-five drivers took time and held onto the pole position through the rest of the forty-six drivers entered. He will start the Good Sam RV Insurance 500 from the pole position on Sunday with a speed of 172.055 mph and 52.309 seconds around this 2.5 mile tricky triangle. 4 Kasey Kahne will start next to him on the front row. 60 Mike Skinner, 50 T. J. Bell and 35 Geoff Bodine failed to qualify for the race. Carl Edwards qualified fourth and headed out to Iowa Speedway to compete in the NASCAR Nationwide Series race later on Saturday.

Next up: the Good Sam RV Emergency Road Service 125 Camping World Truck race at Pocono Raceway. Let’s hope the rain goes away.

Brought to you by Sheila Hawley. I love NASCAR racing.
