NASCAR Racing On Saturday

Welcome NASCAR race fans to my NASCAR blog. Saturday holds a full day of NASCAR racing. The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series is at the Kansas Speedway in Kansas City for the STP 400. Three drivers call this track home. Clint Bowyer from Emporia, Kansas, Jamie McMurray from Joplin, MO. and Carl Edwards from Columbia, MO. They will all be looking for a win in this race. Sprint Cup drivers had two practice sessions on Friday. Greg Biffle was fastest in the first session and Joey Logano was fastest in the second.

Finch changed the car number from 09 to 51 with Landon Cassill driving. 32 in this race will be Patrick Carpentier. Robby Gordon is driving in the Baha 500, so the driver of the 7 car is Johnny Sauter. STP is sponsoring the 43 Petty car of  A. J. Allmendinger with retro paint scheme, like Richard Petty used to drive. The 22 car of Kurt Busch is sponsored by AAA this race. Coors Light Pole Qualifying will take place at noon.

The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series is also at the Kansas Speedway this weekend for the O’Reilly Auto Parts 250. This will be their 400th race! Todd Bodine and Brad Sweet were fastest in practice on Friday. They will qualify and race on Saturday. Sprint Cup driver, Clint Bowyer will drive the 2 Truck for Kevin Harvick. Former Truck driver, Scott Riggs will pilot the 07 Truck.

While the Trucks and Cup drivers are in Kansas, the NASCAR Nationwide Series are racing at Chicagoland Speedway for the STP 300. They will qualify and race also on Saturday. So there will be a full day of racing. I will let you all know what happens.

Brought to you by Sheila Hawley. I love NASCAR racing.
