Welcome NASCAR race fans to my NASCAR blog. This week NASCAR is at the Texas Motor Speedway in Dallas/Ft. Worth, TX. The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series will race in the Samsung Mobile 500, While the NASCAR Nationwide Series will race in the O’Reilly Auto Parts 300. Practice for both Series’ was Thursday and Friday, although not much of that was televised.
Coors light pole Qualifying took place on Friday for both Series. The fastest Sprint Cup driver in practice was 6 David Ragan. He will come onto the track last, with all the slower drivers coming out first. 60 Carl Edwards was the fastest of the Nationwide drivers.
16 Trevor Bayne had the provisional pole for awhile until 2 Elliott Sadler was faster. 22 Brad keselowski was faster. But coming out last, the fastest in practice, was Carl Edwards with a speed of 178.938 mph and 30.178 seconds around the track. Brad keselowski will start second. Only one driver had to go home, that being 55 Brett Rowe.
On the Cup side, 78 Regan Smith sat on the pole for awhile. 99 Carl Edwards was faster. 6 David Ragan came out last and sits on the pole for the Samsung Mobile 500 on Saturday night. His speed was 189.820 mph and 28.448 seconds.
