NASCAR Sprint Cup Series had practice and Coors Light Pole Qualifying for the Ford 400 on Friday with 83 Kasey Kahne taking the pole away from 99 Carl Edwards. Kasey’s speed was 176.904 mph and 30.525 seconds. Championship leaders, Denny Hamlin, Jimmie Johnson and Kevin Harvick will start 37th, 6th and 28th respectively. 46 Michael McDoewll and 26 Patrick Carpentier failed to make the race.
The NASCAR Nationwide Series had practice on Friday and will qualify and race the Ford 300 on Saturday. 22 Brad Keselowski has already clinched the Series Championship and will receive his Trophy after the race. The Owners championship will be decided between the 22 Penske car and the 18 Gibbs car.
The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series practiced, qualified and raced the Ford 200 on Friday. 3 Austin Dillon knocked 18 Kyle Busch off the pole position. There were six cautions and a Red Flag, lasting nineteen minutes when 72 John Jackson slid hard into the sand barrels in front of the entrance to pit road. They had to clean up the sand and put new barrels in place. Race leaders were 3 Dillon, 18 Busch, 13 Johnny Sauter, 51 Aric Almirola and Champion 30 Todd Bodine. One of the cautions was for 18 blowing a tire and getting into the wall. He pitted for repairs and went on to win the Ford 200 race and the Owners Championship with Kyle as the owner in his first year as an owner. He won a season high eight of sixteen races entered.
