Welcome NASCAR race fans to my NASCAR blog. This week NASCAR heads to Texas Motor Speedway in Ft. Worth, TX. All three top series’ are here in Texas. The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series practices today and also qualifies today. There will be Final Practice on Saturday and the Dickies 500 will be raced on Sunday.
The NASCAR Nationwide Series will have practice today and qualify and race on Saturday. (Although not much will be televised.)
The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series will practice and qualify on Friday, as well as race. However only the race is being televised. (I guess if they don’t show practice or qualifying, they won’t have to complain that ratings are low. I long for practice and qualifying.)
For the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, this is the 33rd race of the season and the eighth race in the chase for the Sprint Cup. It looks like only three drivers remain to contend for the championship. Jimmie Johnson leads the points by fourteen over Denny Hamlin and by thirty-eight over Kevin Harvick. All three have been very good all year and it should be a great race to the end.
Of course, any driver can win any of the remaining three races. Not just those in the chase. And any of the chase contenders can win those races, not just the top three. I will be back with updates.
