NASCAR Race Review: Tums Fast Relief 500

by

Welcome NASCAR race fans to my NASCAR blog. The 32nd race of the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series season and the sixth race in the chase for the Sprint Cup is the Tums Fast Relief 500 at the Martinsville Speedway. There are three good choices on a winner for this race. 48 Jimmie Johnson and 11 Denny Hamlin have won all the races here in the past eight years! Jimmie plans on making this his seventh win here. And Denny won the last two races here and wants that third in a row. 29 Kevin Harvick was atop the points before the chase and is determined to win the championship despite the chase. While this isn’t Kevin’s best track, he does have a fast car. And Team mate 31 Jeff Burton is another good choice. He led the most laps earlier this year, but was taken out with a flat tire. If the tires hold up, he could pull this off.

Denny Hamlin is on the pole with a speed of 97.018 mph and 19.518 seconds. 47 Marcos Ambrose starts beside him on the front row. 64 is Landon Cassill. Kasey Kahne is in his new ride for 2011, the 83. 36 is Dave Blaney. Aric Almirola is in the recently vacated 9 car. 26 is Ken Schrader. Kevin Conway qualified Robby Gordon’s 7 car, but because his 07 car didn’t qualify for the race, Robby will drive the 7. 71 is Hermie Sadler.(You’ve seen him on Race Day.) 81 is J. J. Yeley. 46 Michael McDowell, 07 the Robby Gordon car, 55 Terry Cook, and 66 Johnny Sauter failed to make the race.
