Welcome NASCAR race fans to my NASCAR blog. This week the NASCAR Sprint Cup series travels to Kansas Speedway in Kansas City, KS for the Price Shopper 400. This is the 29th race of the season and the third race in the chase for the Sprint Cup Championship. This is a fairly flat 1.5 mile track.
On Friday, the ARCA/ReMaxNASCAR N series race took place at Kansas Speedway with Ty Dillon winning that race. Practice took place earlier on Friday for the NASCAR Sprint Cup series, as well as for the NASCAR Nationwide series.
Coors Light Pole qualifying took place, with 9 Kasey Kahne grabbing the pole with a speed of 174.644 mph and 30.920 seconds. Team mate, 98 Paul Menard shares the front row . Former Cup Champions 09 Bobby Labonte and 21 Bill Elliott got into the race on speed. The 19 Stanley car of Elliott Sadler is pink for the Susan G. Koman Breast Cancer awareness.
7 is Kevin Conway again. 64 is Landon Cassill. 26 is Patrick Carpentier. 46 is Michael McDowell. 38 is Dave Blaney. 36 is J. J. Yeley. 66 Jason Leffler, a Nationwide Series regular, 87 Joe Nemechek, a former Kansas Speedway winner and 55 Mike Bliss failed to qualify. This is Kasey’s 19th pole of his career and third this year.
On Saturday the NASCAR Nationwide Series will qualify and race at Kansas Speedway.
