NASCAR Racing

by

Welcome NASCAR race fans to my NASCAR blog. It’s been awhile since my last post and I apologize. I’ve been on vacation. But nothing happened last week in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. So there was no race review for me to give. Here’s what happened during the Sprint Cup off week.

Last week the NASCAR Camping World Truck series raced at Chicagoland Speedway in Joliet, IL. Points leader, Todd Bodine in the 30 truck was on the pole and finished second. 18 Kyle Busch started fourth and won the race, making this the third in a row Truck race he’s won. This week, on Friday night, they raced at Kentucky Speedway in Sparta, KY. 3 Austin Dillon started on the pole and finished ninth. Kyle Busch spun Bodine out and Bodine had to pit for tires and gas. Bodine went on to win when Kyle had to pit for fuel later in the race. Todd thanked Kyle for his “dirty driving” which had him pitting for fuel and letting him win the race.

The NASCAR Nationwide Series raced at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in Montreal, Canada last week. 47 Marcos Ambrose started on the pole. There was an exciting photo finish between 09 Boris said and 33 Max Papis, with said winning. And on Saturday night at Atlanta Motor Speedway in Hampton, GA. Kasey Kahne started from the pole, but finished nineteenth. Jamie McMurray started seventh and beat Kyle Busch for the win.

Also on Friday NASCAR Sprint Cup Series had their Coors Light Pole Qualifying session, with 11 Denny Hamlin starting from the pole with a speed of 187.38 mph. 39 Ryan Newman will start second. 32 Jason Leffler, 09 Landon Cassill, 66 Scott Riggs and 64 Todd Bodine failed to qualify. I’ll tell you all about it tomorrow. It was an exciting race.

Brought to you by Sheila Hawley. I love NASCAR.
