So, qualifying was on Thursday. 84 is once again, Mike Skinner. 78 Joe Nemechek is in the race, starting forty-first. 70 is now back to Johnny Sauter, and Jeremy Mayfield is out of the car. 21 Bill Elliott is in the race on a past Champion provisional. 45 Kyle Petty and 34 John Andretti didn’t qualify and will not be in this race. The 20 car of Tony Stewart has Sponsorship from Subway this race. 24 Jeff Gordon is green Nicorette this race. 11 Denny Hamlin is white and purple marchforbabies.org. The 40 of Dario Franchitti is yellow Juicy Fruit. The 42 of Juan Pablo Montoya is Big Red.
12 Ryan Newman is the Pole sitter with a speed of 133.457. So, here we go. 12 leads from the pole. 9 Kasey Kahne and 48 Jimmy Johnson battle. 48 gets the position. 8 Mark Martin gets by 9. The first caution comes out on lap ten for debris. The top five are 12, 99 Carl Edwards, 19 Elliott Sadler, 18 Kyle Busch and 48. 12 and 99 battle for the lead. 99 gets into 12 while battling, bringing 18 up to the battle. So, the top four (12,99,18, and 48) are all battling for first. 18, 99, and 48 are three-wide. 18 and 48 get by 99.48 and 99 battle. 48 takes the lead during the commercial.
The second caution comes out when 17 Matt Kenseth gets into the wall. 22 Dave Blaney stays out, but pits before he leads a lap. 12 is leading at the restart. 48 takes the lead. 12 and 99 battle for second. 6 David Ragan and 12 battle. 18 is Snickers this week, instead of M&M’s. 17 is back on the track, forty-one laps down. Green Flag Pitting begins with 99 on lap 113. And the third coution comes out. 26 Jamie McMurray blows up, leaving fluid on the track. 78 gets into the oil and spins. 5 Casey Mears is the Lucky Dog and gets his lap back.
99 had a penalty in the pits. His crew went over the wall too early. But since the Yellow came out, his only penalty is restarting at the end of the longest line. Out of the pits, it’s 48, 88 Dale Earnhardt, Jr. 8, 9, 11. 88 takes the lead. 38 David Gilliland and 40 battle in front of the Leader, 88. Which lets 48 take the lead back. 12 is smoking steering wheel fluid, and the fourth caution comes out when 31 Jeff Burton, 41 Reed Sorenson and 17 get into the oil and spin. 96 J.J. Yeley also crashes, and 70 gets into it. 43 Bobby Labonte is the Lucky Dog. And there is a Red Flag thrown for clean-up.
48, 8, 9 and 16 Greg Biffle stay out. 07 Clint Bowyer and 19 take two tires. The rest of the top ten are 88, 11, 29 Kevin Harvick, and 1 Martin Truex, Jr. 88 goes from seventh at the restart to third on the outside. The fifth caution comes out when 41 gets into the wall. 42 spins into the infield when 42 and 7 Robby Gordon get together. 88 is leading. 24 Jeff Gordon is the Lucky Dog, and gets his lap back. 38 bobbles. 19 has a tire going down. The sixth caution comes out when 19 blows the tire. 99 Carl Edwards is the Lucky Dog.
8 Martin is leading 2 Kurt Busch and 88 get together. The top fifteen are 8, 1, 88, 29, 11, 07, 16, 48, 18, 2, 20, 26, 99, 31, and 9. The seventh caution comes out during the commercial. 6 spins and touches the wall. 38 David Gilliland is the Lucky Dog. The Green flag comes out with 108 to go. 31 gets by 07. 43 is down a cylinder. 48 gets by 07. The eighth caution comes out when 9 Kahne blows a tire and gets into the wall. 2 Kurt Busch is the Lucky Dog. It’s 88, 8, 11, 29, 18 out of the pits. 11 and 8 battle for second. 48 gets by 29 for forth. 8 takes the lead during the commercial. 11 and 88 battle. 99 takes sixth from 18. 99 gets by 29.
Everyone is short on gas. 11 pits for two tires. 1 pits for two tires. 20 pits and stalls it on the way out. 26 is pitting. 88 is pitting. 48 takes the lead when 8 pits. 24 is pitting. 99 pits for fuel only. 29 is out of gas and pits, and can’t get it to restart. 48 Jimmy Johnson coasts the last mile to get the Checkers.
